Travel Agent Research Assignment

Introduction: For this assignment, you will be taking on the role of a travel agent as you plan a vacation for someone else. You will research some history of the destination, arrange sleeping accommodations, make meal suggestions, coordinate the entertainment, and prepare the travel arrangements.

Assignment components:

20 points - Notes
10 points - Outline
30 points - Works cited
50 points - Research paper (essay format)

Breakdown of Research Paper Points
5 points (at least 3 pages)
5 points (thesis statement)
10 points (grammar/ punctuation/ MLA Format)
10 points (at least 5 in-text citations)
20 points (content)

NOTES:
You must use at least THREE different sources.
• CIA World Factbook or Grolier’s (online)
• A book, magazine, or newspaper of your choice (not online)
• A website of your choice
You must have at least THREE pages of notes.
• Each page of notes will be from ONE source
• You will write the source information at the top of your notes page, and then your notes from that source will be written below.

RESEARCH PAPER:
Your research paper must be in MLA format which means: size 12 font, standard font style, double-spaced, title, works cited page, and in-text citations throughout. You will learn about these things during the unit. The total length should be 3 pages (not including the works cited page).

WORKS CITED:
This is a list of the sources you used to write your paper. It is the last page of your research paper. You will learn how to do this.
